DSL freezes when someone calls

i been having problems with my internet in the last few days, for some reason when someone calls, my internet freezes for about 20 sec. its really anoying when im playing a game, then i have to reconnect. i have filters on each phone. plz any help :[

Make sure your filters arent reversed. One end should say "wall" and one end should say "phone". If these are reversed you will have problems. Also ensure there's no filter on the dsl modem's line and that the line is not split from the walljack coming into the dsl modem. If this doesnt help use process of elimination. Unplug all your phones and have someone call. If you get disconnected you know you have a cabling issue. If not, plug in one phone and try again. Keep having someone call until you locate the phone/filter creating the problem. Make sure you're using the phone line that they supplied you with to connect your dsl modem. Some have built-in filters and the service won't work correctly if you don't use the supplied cable.
