Hi
Have recently installed a LAN to connect my computer with my parents. Downloaded PPPShar to help share the internet and email because windows home networking 'wizard' was not as wise as it said on the box! I can do almost everything now except get a connection through Dreamweaver mx to upload my website. The gateway machine IP is 192.168.0.1. How do i get dreamweaver to use this and then find my FTP after its found that!?
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean you want to upload your files to an external ftp server, through your internal gateway (internet connected machine)?

If so make sure port 21 is activated on PPPshar.

You may want to try the ICS with windows ME it seems to work better than xp for some reason!!
Better still get a router that will sort your life out!!

What kinda websites do you write, i.e. php/asp i myself write php sites, and i have found it useful to install an apache/php/mysql webserver on my local network and use it to test my sites before uploading, it makes things alot quicker once your done upload it with a normal ftp client on the other machine if the above dont work!!
Or just get a router and it will work, providing you have a cable modem!!
All the best

Did you get the lite version of PPPshar, cos if you did it says it only share http(80), you need something thats shares ftp(21).
Socks server normally does the trick, or install ics on me(this is the best, cheapest idea) Once you have ics running correctly all the pcs on your network will appear to have a direct connection to the internet!!
Rich!!
