wondering i use a lot of p2p and dl large files using 2.5mbit dsl, I would like to play online games while i'm downloading or running ftp server on the other pc.
Do you guys think a router would be good idea and would'nt cause lag when I play shooter game like Halo online in my first pc.

A 10/100 router connected by CAT 5e wiring to each PC will give you up to 100Mbps on each port so the router itself won't slow down either connection to the Internet but it still feeds into a 2.5Mbps DSL connection: that's the real bottleneck.
*Internally* a router doesn't slow down a LAN and can be faster than, say, ICS or direct connection. But if you have one machine running a Quake server and the other d/ling h07 nZstE p0rn at the same time you can saturate your Internet connection, yes. The only way around that is to go to some pipe bigger than DSL, like cable or satellite.
