Have been trying to set up a network for my boss at his office (small peer to peer, 3 comps). Have 10/100 ethernet switch. I have run the Network Setup Wizard on all computers (same workgroup name, diff. pc names). The problem is every time i try to access a shared folder through the network, i get an error message saying "Access denied: you may not have permission to use this network resource." etc. What confuses me is that each computer sees the other ones in the "veiw workgroup computers" folder, and that i have shared internet connection. So why can't i share files?

Did you check permission to the folder to make sure your users can access them?

I had the exact same issue. This is what fixed it: Go to properties on your network connection from control panel. Uninstall file and printer sharing for Microsoft networks. Restart the computer and then reinstall the service from that you just uninstalled.
Post your results.

just to make sure, you did setup actual users that are on all of the PCs and add these users specifically to each computers permission group, right?

k, yes the permissions for the folders are set so users can view and change them.
I tried the uninstall-reinstall filesharing thing, no change.
Mike, how do you add users to the permission groups?
