Hi guys, I am noobie and pardon me if this question is silly.

I have a server with 10 workstations. The server and every 10 workstations have their own LAN/ethernet port. All 10 workstations will be connected to server as the database is located in the server.

So my question, is it necessary to have a router? Does connecting the server and all workstations to the LAN hub sufficient enough to create a server&workstation connection

It's absolutely ok for inhouse connection to your server.

If every workstation and maybe the server should also connect to the internet, it's suggestet to use a firewall router to secure your network.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
