Specs: Imac & HP + a IPad, i76gb
IF I USE A CAT6 CABLE COMING FROM A DESK HUB AND THE DESK HUB IS CONNECTED TO ROUTER WITH A CAT5 CABLE WILL IT BE FASTER? OR DOES THE CABLE FROM THE MODEM TO ROUTER HAVE TO BE A CAT6 TOO? OR, WILL THEY ALL DELIVER SPEEDS AS ONE UNIT

You can mix and mingle Cat5/5e/6 and not suffer any loss of bandwidth.

Which is to say, if you have a Cat6 patch cable running from your PC to your switch, and a Cat5/5e from the switch to another device to which you want to connect, the bandwidth will be consistent. As long as the interface on your PC, the target and the switch are all 1000 Mbps, then you will have a 1000 Mbps transfer rate.

Oh and FYI, using all caps is the internet equivalent to yelling. So next time you post online, do remember that. (Also, it's harder to read).

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
