The purpose of DNS (dynamic name system) is for computer to be able to resolve internet address (ie. www.microsoft.com) to IP addresses (ie. 207.46.230.218). The purpose of DHCP (dynamic host control protocol) is to hand out IP addresses and other fields (ie default gateway) to clients on a network. This eliminates the job of configuring each PC individually. Now, as for explaining how to do all of this, well, it would take me a lot of time. Also, since I do not know what operating system you are install DNS and DHCP on, it would be pretty much impossible. I suggest getting a book on these subjects and read up on it. If you are using microsofts dns/dhcp, there is plenty of information on their site about implementing and planning for dns/dhcp. Hope this helps.
