Comment:
I have a DNS server with multiples zones that someone else setup. One zone seems to be a primary and I can resolve names without FQDN. The other zone needs the FQDN to resolve. So instead of just typing server1 to ping I have to use server1.DNSzone2.com. Is there a way to make it so both zones can ping without FQDN or can I just put server1 in both zones?

This is controlled per DNS client TCP/IP properties.
