Specs: Windows XP
ipconfig /all reports one of my three DNS servers as My Default Gateway and DHCP Server are also reported as This is from a recently installed Valet M10 updating an old Linksys router. The Linksys reported the three DNS servers octets independent of the router's ip and other default settings.

This is, because your Valet M10 is acting as a DNS server for your client PCs.
Therefore, the clients only need the routers IP address for the DNS server, while the router itself is aware of the other DNS servers, which are the DNS servers of your ISP.

So the router forwards the DNS requests of the client PCs to the ISPs DNS server.
