Specs: Windows XP

i have some DNS questions

how many DNS servers have to be updated, if i was to register the ip address for a web server?

if i want to add that web server to a domain, how many DNS servers have to be updated?

would appreciate an explaination

Where is it registered? Did you register it with IANA's TLD


then all you should have to do is goto it in a web browser and the FQDN should propagate through the DNSs. I have been told that is you try to access the address from the Root TLD it will force an update in the DNSs, like "Yahoo.com.". By putting the last dot it will skip the .com TLD and try the Root DNS. Not sure if this works or not.

Sure sounds like a homework question. Why do you want to know since how many dns servers have to be updated make no difference to you?
