dns error

when i tried setting up my internet for the ps3, i put up the setting and configured all the information correctly like how my laptop was. When i was finished it said internet connection failed because of a dns error, but my laptop is connected to the internet can someone help me out...thanks much appreciated

I've never tried connecting a PS3 (or any other game console) but if you're getting a DNS error it's because you're console didn't get the proper DNS address.

If you can, check the TCP/IP settings on the device and compare the DNS address to that on your working laptop. If they're not the same, that's your issue.
