Hi, I've noticed a problem on my computer that wasn't there last week. I think it's a networking related problem, but I'm not totally sure. I have two computers running Windows Me and networked together using a 4 port hub. The hub is then connected to the internet (DSL) line so that both computers can share it. This has worked fine for many months.
I think that my new problem is the result of installing and uninstalling a program or two. I only get this error on one computer, the other one works fine.
Now when I double click my little IE icon I get the following error:
res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm
I close the IE window and then try opening IE again. Only then does my browser 'dial' the default connection and WinPoet kicks into action to connect me.
It's a small problem but it annoys the hell out of me because it wasn't happening just a few days ago.Anyone know what's up?

Try right clicking on you "little ie icon" and choose properties.
Go to the connection tab and see if there is multiple listings. If there are remove those which are no longer applicable.
Also click on LAN and verify that it is properly configured.
