dns error

OS: windows xp
CPU/Ram: 512mb of ram

when ever i restart my computer, the internet will not connect, it will keep saying page cannot be displayed and have dns error. If i keep restarting the computer over and over and turning it off and on for a while and doing the registry scan and repaired. eventually the internet will start working again but if i ever restart it or turn it off when it comes back on the internet is having dns error again and wont connect. what is wrong with my computer? is it a virus? i did virus check and nothing comes up. please help me out.

Run at a command prompt ipconfig /all when it's not working. Post the results.
