Hi I'm currently setting up a video conferencing kit (D-Link DVC-1000) and are having some problems.

It requires unblocking ports, I did that alraedy but it still doens't work. I have a business dedicated line (Fractional T1 with AT&T), I needed to call them to have them forward the ports on the Cisco router. Do those routers have DMZ? If they do, I want to move them to the DMZ and give it a try.

My current config is:
Internet > Cisco Router (ISP) > 8 Port Switch > DVC-1000.

DVC-1000 configured as:
IP: 10.0.0.5
GW: 10.0.0.1
DNS: DNS given by ISP

Thanks for the tips.

DMZ or DeMilitarized Zone is a term associated with the firewalls. It is part of your network that is accessed by outsiders and insiders both.

Apparently, you dont have access to the firewall that protects your network. For this reason you can't control or may be have your DMZ.

Hope this helps.

Rais Ahmad is correct. The firewall in the router is in realty "NAT" or Network Address Translation. To effectively set up a videoconference, you may have stop using the router. Otherwise the router NAT will keep blocking incoming traffic needed for the videoconference to work.

A Cisco can be configured with a DMZ. They might prefer to add a forwarding entry to your profile (depends on their policies).

Hi gohan

If you really want to get help, You'd be better off starting your own thread. The question you asked here has nothing to do with DMZ.
