now im just wondering how would i enable a password onto the wireless so somebody would need to enter it if they were planning on joining the network and using their internet connection?

just want to keep the neighbors out and have access when i bring over my laptop :) thanks in advance!

I don't know about passwords on wireless, but if you set up WEP encryption, you'll need a key (length varies depending on encryption type - some accept a "key word"). You can also, depending on the software, configure the wireless to only accept connections from certain wireless cards that you specify by MAC address. If you turn this on, the wireless network won't be able to be accessed by anybody without that MAC address, and MAC addresses are unique.
