Back to basics.

Connect your PC direct to your modem. Check you can get internet.
Start up Command Prompt.
Enter the following:
ipconfig /all

Write down the details for Gateway and DNS Server.

Turn off. Connect Modem to router. Connect PC to router.

Turn on PC. Open web browser.

If you do not get internet then enter in browser addressbar. You will be prompted for admin user ID & Password. This gets you to the router admin interface.

Go to the WAN page and check that the WAN Gateway & DNS addresses are the same as you previously copied.

Depending on your ISP you may need to manually enter those details and may also need to clone your PC's MAC address in the router in order to connect.

Does the laptop connect by cable or wireless?

Do ipconfig on both the PC and laptop.
Compare the gateway and DNS lines on them as they should be the same.

Does the laptop successfully log into the wireless and does it obtain an IP from the router? What security (if any) have you established for your wireless network and have you entered the correct credentials in the laptop?
