Please help!!
We just relocated our office to a new location...
At this new location, we have Fibre Optic Internet setup.

The IP range supplied by the ISP for our usage is similar to:
216.185.70.225-216.185.70.238
(Changed here for security purposes)

The gateway that they have provided is:
216.185.73.230

Currently - we have a simple switch plugged into the Fibre interface provided.
All servers are plugged directly into this switch and utilize addresses such as 216.185.70.225, 216.185.70.226, etc.
The default gateway setup on each of these servers is the 216.185.73.230 address, as specified by our Fibre ISP. The necessary DNS servers are also specified on each of our servers.

THE PROBLEM:
Although the above IS *working* (even though it shouldn't theoretically work), any of our internal ROUTERS cannot be setup in this fashion since it requires alternate subnets, etc.

What do we need to accomplish the above?
Does the answer lie with a network BRIDGE, or is there some way to make this work with simple routers that we have here (D-Link, LinkSys, NetGear, etc.)??

"The necessary DNS servers are also specified on each of our servers."

Pointing to where? Your servers should be pointing to ms dns server not the isps.

"any of our internal ROUTERS cannot be setup in this fashion since it requires alternate subnets"

This statement is confusing since the whole purpose of routing is to have a different subnet on each side of the router.

what is the subnet mask? For that gateway to work those ips have to be supernetted.
What are you using routers for internally, ie. how many servers/wksts?

'tis the season to be of good cheer. Wishing one and all happy times with family and friends.

Errr, a public ip with the correct subnet and gateway should connect to the rest of the public ip's.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Currently - we have a simple switch plugged into the Fibre interface provided.

The fibre connects directly to a GBIC on the switch or it runs through a media converter first, and then is copper into the switch?

I ask because a "simple switch" rarely comes with a GBIC connector....or a slot for one.

In either case, I would highly recommend you run it through a router/firewall before you go into the switch.

This would allow you to provide some security for your servers and anything else connected to that switch.

I'm not sure why you say: "even though it shouldn't theoretically work" From what I see, this is a pretty standard setup (excluding of course the fact that you do not at this point in time have your network secured safely behind a firewall).

While speaking of "standard setup" if it were me, I'd have my network sitting behind a firewall/router and using private IP's. I would put all outward facing servers in a DMZ (also safe and sound behind a firewall) and I would only use one external, routable, IP address that the rest of the world could see.
