Hey Again,

I appologise in advance for what may be a rather complex question. bare with me.

Recently i set up a wireless network in my (student)house using a Belkin 802.11g wireless modem/router and 6 Belkin 802.11g network PCI cards. (6 computers in all, running windows XP)
Using Bulldog Broadband with a maximum of 8mb connection.

Having adjusted all of the router settings to basically work with all of the pc's there now seems to be the problem of random disconnections. (Im pretty sure its on all PC's, weather or not all at the same time i am unsure.) There doesn't appear to be anything that causes the connection to fail, such as opening an application.

Any idea's why the connection should suddenly break and then reconnect when prompted to 'repair'?

I should mention the signal strength between the router and all pc's is good.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Daniel

You can try moving your wireless router to a more central location and away from metallic objects that might block the signal. Sometimes you have to add a signal booster or install a custom antenna to boost the signal. The easiest way to fix this is on each client pull up Wireless Adapter Properties and look at the Connections: For the one you want to use select "Automatically reconnect when in range". There are many, many reasons for a connection to temporarily drop due to a transient condition but if the connection is re-detected the client will automatically reconnect and you may not even notice the disconnect.
