I share ADSL and LAN connection from one house to another house on my block via wireless. The distance is about 150 meters from antenna point to antenna point. I have connection and things are fine. My question is that I am looking to find software that will give me a signal strength that I can use to align the antennas as they are not visible to each other and also one is one level elevated.

Thank you fmwap, however I see that I have left a hole in my explaination of my problem. The Netstumbler seems to be for Net cards. I should have added that I am useing a DLink DSL-G604T Modem that is transcieving to a DWL-2000AP+ Access point. I am useing identical 15db directional antenna. Sorry for my mistake.

You can still use Netstumbler. Netstumbler finds 802.11 signals and measures strength. It'd also be easier if it were a 2 (wo)man operation. You'd have one end at a time broadcast a unique SSID, while you at the other end with a laptop or PC and a wireless NIC measure the signal strength of that SSID. Have someone at the other end (talking to them by cell phone or landline) move the antennae back and forth while you watch Netstumbler for the best signal. Then repeat by you and your helper switching ends. This way you can position the antennae at each end in the ideal position.
Assume that I already did an Internet search.

Thanks "Analyst" I will do as you suggest. I could use my wife and have a Man and Woman operation. Then we would have to measure the strength of the argument :-) Tongue in cheek as my wife is Russian, and a Programmer!!!! Thanks again.
