Heres the issue:
I have DSL at work and I would like to connect
from home. My laptop does not have a Modem
only a Network Card(RJ45). If I were to
purchase a converver RJ45 to RJ11 how would
I make the computer dial a connection when it
knows there is no physical modem?

Simple, you can't. it is the MODEM that does the dialing, not the netwrok card or anything else within the computer.

To connect to anything, whether it is DSL, CAble or 56K dial up you need a MODEM.
