Hi everyone..i have this exam question that i cant seem to figure out....I have a dhcp server connected to a router(in which i have disabled the dhcp ability) and on to that router i have a couple of switces(subnets) connected on....for some reason something is wrong and the clients dont get ip...any ideas????
I think the simplest solution is to connect your DHCP server inside your LAN because like said above your router will not pass DHCP packets unless configured to do so but then you open up a a security whole in your router. This only works unless you have multiple networks. How many networks do you have? But even then, I would setup separate DHCP servers for each network because it more secure that way but I am kinda security nut.
