I cannot pull an address from my router, even though I have DHCP set up on it. I get the "DHCP Server unreachable" message when I run ipconfig /renew. I have a Windows 2000 network (10 Win 2k workstations, 1 Win 2k Server). I decided to try to install and run the DHCP Server on the Win 2k server machine. After setting it up, it would not work. Then I found out I had to authorize it. Did so and it now works. However, I would like to use my router as my DHCP Server. Any ideas?

Seems the problem is of your router.

Can you check if the port 547 (DHCP server) is open.

If it is, check the dhcp setting on your router.
