Ok this is weird, ive been trying for 4days now to have wireless internet for my laptop and the DHCP keeps failing.
I have a acer laptop trying for WIFI.
A old PC on the LAN.
And the Router is a DLink DI624 rev.Cthe DHCP seems to be working fine with the LAN connections, but it wont asign a IP for the wifi unless do ethier two things:
1 connect the laptop to the LAN of the router and the routers DHCP will asign a ip for both the wifi and lan, but the wifi IP will only work for 2-24hours.
2 i reset the router with a new pasword.I have the following setting on the router.
-DHCP enabled, static ips asigned to the mac adress of the laptops lan and wifi, and the old pc's lan.
-the wifi on the router is set for superG without turbo, I have Extended Rage enabled, and 802.11g band only enabled.
- the wifi encryption is set to WPA2- PSK AES
- Ive download the latest drivers/cleint from the intel website for the laptop.
- my laptops DHCP sevrices is enabled.Im at a lost, dose anyone know what is wrong?

try turning off encryption

ok i tryed it without encryption and with WEP and it works fine, but is there some resean WPA1 and 2 wont connect?
because im getting a large antenna with a half to one mile rage and i like to have good encryption.
