I'm currently working on a hobby project of mine, and I need a little bit of help.
I give alot of time to a local childrens home in my area and they are looking to join the information age.
I want the children to be able to access 5 computers, and be able to communicate on the local network at all times. share files and printing and what not.
I planed on setting these 5 computers to static ips to.
192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.5
The problem I'm having is the internet. you see they must be supervised , by law, when they browse the internet. what i wanted was a server option that would lease a DNS to these computers for an hour via a gui interface, or command line if need be. also if there was a script option that would be acceptable .
As a charity organization spending money on something like this isnt possible, unless out of my own pocket. I'm a mostly a noob at linux but I choose it because its free.
What i would like is suggestions for:
reading material
websites
programs
anything elsein order to achieve this goal
as always you can explain in a reply.
Thank you ^_^

I would look at Linspire LiveCD for the Workstations as it is FREE and cuts down costs and hardware requirements.

The server PC look at Solaris 10 again a free download and is full server software:
