I was wondering how to setup DHCP to run on my wireless connection only. Im trying to setup an ad hoc network to share my DSL line between laptops and cant get it to run on TCPIP. Apparently, Verizon doesnt play nice with DHCP. Thanks

How do you connect to the internet? I take it you do not have a wireless router since you say you are trying to set up wireless ad-hoc connection. Does this mean you have a wired connection to the modem and each PC has wireless NIC? If that is the case then you would need to establish ICS in the "host" system. (the one that has the modem connection) then set up the client machine to use the Host wireless IP as default gateway.
I'm not sure whether the client machine should be set to acquire IP from the host or perhaps have a manually set IP address in the same range as the host. eg set the host ip manually to 192.168.0.1 with subnet 255.255.255.0 and the client with 192.168.0.2 with same subnet mask, and default gateway set to 162.168.0.1I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Shouldnt I set the default gateway to the host's IP address? For some odd reason, my host computer wont connect to wireless ad hoc unless its set on DHCP. My wireless router failed, so Im stuck on ad hoc for the time being.

gateway should be the other end of the ad-hoc wireless connection [wireless nic] not the ethernet card beyond it [assuming bridging between wireless and nic to internet].
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

Okay, so all that in post two didnt really work. Im getting the same problem with the no connect reguardless if Im setting my IP or not. This stupid thing is stuck on "acquiring network address". Searching revealed that DHCP should be turned on, and when I turned DHCP on, my internet connection went dead.
f--- Verizon.
