Hi there.. I am using windows 2003 server it has dns and dhcp enabled. I have 2 network interfaces. 1 for dsl 2nd for my LAN. DSL has 192.168.1.1 (Gateway) and my LAN uses 192.168.0.1. Now the problem is in my dns my domain name e.g xyz.com shows but when I try to use nlslookup it shows me my ISP 192.168.1.1 with non existant server msg (Failed) and in my dhcp server I configure it on 192.168.0.1 it runs fine but after next reboot it goes on 192.168.1.1 (ISP gateway) How can I set my DNS on 192.168.0.1 and my DHCP 192.168.0.1 permanent. Moreover I am using Winproxy to sperate both Ips...
Best Regards,
Asad

Two seperate problems.

DNS -

You setup private DNS with a private IP address. But nslookup is for public DNS with public IP addresses. To have your DNS showup in nslookup you have 1.) a static IP address or dynamic DNS and 2.) you have to register your domain name with a domain service (i.e. like GoDaddy) and at the registered domain you would assign primary, secondary, and if you want a tertiary DNS IP address. There you could input your static IP address or dynamic DNS...That way all the other DNS in the world know where to go, and your nslookup will point to your public IP address.

DHCP -

sounds like you have two different DHCP servers: one on your server and one from your ISP gateway. You should never have two or more DHCP services running in your network for just the reason you described. Turn of DHCP service in your ISP gateway and it will work fine.
