defining switches n hubs

can anyone help me? i m running a large network of around 50 computers, i have taken heavy bandwidth n distribute it through hubs n switches the problem is i dont know how to set the hubs n switches, i mean to say that from my server the line goes to the main switch n after that i have putted several hubs n switches in a row, what is the proper way of setting switches n hubs in a row?

backbone switch <-> servers hubs connect to backbone switch pcs connect to hubs
don't connect hubs in series [hub<->hub<->hub] or the last hub has less/least % of the bandwidth.
