Subject: Default Username and Pass for Win 9OS: Windows 98SECPU/Ram: 128 |
Comment: ok, well im trying to connect my windows 98SE computer to my Windows XP Home Edition computer, and i understand i have to make an account with the same username and pass for it to access the windows XP files. But what i want to know is what is the default username and password for the computer, because at the moment when you turn on the computer it just loads up windows 98 (because we disabled the multi user thing). Now when i tried to click Users in the control pannel, it was getting me to a place where it was a wizard to get more users, and i dont want to stuff how the windows 98 machine logs in. So what would be the Default username and pass for that computer. Like is it: Username = default, Password = none thnx for ur time

Reply: (edit)i think your misunderstanding networking. wun98 must have 'client for microsoft networks' installed, and file/printer sharing enabled. both computers in the same workgroup, but each with diff name. you will need to log in win98 'your choice of computer name/password. that will enable you to see the xp from the win98. look here for excellent help www.practicallynetworked.com
