Specs: microsoft windows server 203
i have a slight issue. i have server a doing backups over the network to server b for storage both are on a 100m network. i want to be able to connect a cross over cable to a 3rd nic in server a to a second nic in server b. i want the transfer to go over this dedicated connection for back ups and not go over the normal network as back ups take for ever over 100m connection. is this possible?

Certainly it is.

Use a crossover cable (remembering your maximum segment length is 100 m) to connect the two servers.

You will want to use a private IP subnet not in use anywhere else in your network and direct the backup traffic over it.
