Hi guys...pretty big problem...
Here at the University we have both Outlook and Eudora which POP3 from a unix server...One of the dept secretarys got mail first in Outlook, saw the email messesages...
Then opened Eudora, saw what appeared to be "duplicate" email messages compared to Outlook...Then she put Eudora emial messages in recycle bin, then dumped recycle bin...
Then the duplicate messages dissappeared from OUtlook...
The duplicates in both email systems is another problem...
My problem is to try to recover the messages from Eudora...ASSUMING that not everything was duplicated in Outlook...we are also looking at the backup tapes from the Exchange server...
And, of course, the secretary informs us that most of the messages are of no importance, but there are maybe 6 or so that are extremely important, but she doesn't remember exactly what they are, or where they came from...(I think she is still having a "minor" heart attack)
The question is...
Does anyone have a process for recovering Eudora email from a recycle bin that has been dumped???I have used Norton Systemworks file recovery and cannot find anything that looks like a Eudora trash file....mdx would be the file extension...
How about any file recovery software you recommend?
Any suggestions or ideas??
Thanx...and I am posting the same message on a couple other boards here, so you will see duplication...
Steve...email me if you like...
