crossover from a dlinks switch port to a smc switch port. Turn dhcp off on the smc. I would do a static assignment of x.x.x.2 for the smc lan side. Dlink would be x.x.x.1 Http to x.x.x.1 to configure the dlink. Http to x.x.x.2 to configure the printserver
