Take a peek at this: http://www.customlogon.com/
Does anyone know how to do this? I've had a thorough Google and can't find anything.
I've just taken charge of my school's IT and would like to create something like this with the school's logo on. Is there a way of doing it globally without having to change settings on each PC?
The server is Win 2003 Server and the workstations are Win XP Pro.
Many thanks in advance!

Simple answer would be to write to them and ask about educational use.
In prior versions of ms products these changes were done with paint program if you knew where the file was and what it was named. XP might have put a basic file format like bitmap image into another program or dll.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

As far as deploying it with out having to go onto every machine, i'd use some form of file system monitor to see what file it changes when it customises the screen and then simpley copy that file across to all the work stations.
Was that what you were after?

Thanks for the suggestions.
@ bmustillrose: Thanks but that isn't what I'm after. I've used logonstudio on my home PC before and that changes the background and login when XP is set to the icon style of logging in (when you click on your user icon) rather than the ctrl-alt-del method which is used on our work network.

Have a look at the video,
