Crossover help!

Hi, I have a desktop with music files connected to a laptop thru a crossover cable. How do I share files this way? I have run network setup wizard on both to no avail! Any ideas regarding ip setup? Please help!!!

Is the workgroup for each PC the same? Also, are the IP addresses in the same range (e.g., 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.101), and is the subnet mask the same (e.g., 255.255.255.0)? After you check the IP info, make sure that File Sharing is enabled on each PC.
