OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: 2ghz/1GB
Product: Apple MacBook
Comment:

I'm running QEMU on my OS X box so that I can run Windows XP. This works fine, but while running Windows I need to be able to access some machines on the same non-routed network that my QEMU-hosting OS X box is on. Here's the relevant network setup:

OS X IP address: in 192.168.0.x subnet
OS X gateway: 192.168.0.1
QEMU Windows XP gateway: 10.0.2.2
QEMU Windows XP address: in 10.0.2.2 subnet

Interface List

0x1 ........................... MS TCP Loopback interface

0x2 ...52 54 00 12 34 56 ...... Realtek RTL8029(AS)-based Ethernet Adapter (Gene

ric) - Packet Scheduler Miniport

255.255.255.255 255.255.255.255 10.0.2.16 10.0.2.16 1

Default Gateway: 10.0.2.2

Anyone have any idea how I can set up a route between these two networks? Interestingly, QEMU itself automatically set up a file share folder between Windows XP and my OS X host box, but I'm not sure how it did that.

Looks correct to me. What is wrong exactly?

You can ping out of qemu but not into it.

If XP has the correct driver then you just let it use dhcp. Then access via the IP address of the resource you need. If you need a proxy on the browser then you would have to manually install it or direct it. The dhcp requests don't go from the xp to beyond the qemu server.

10.0.2.16 is the one that qemu should have provided via dhcp unless you picked it for some reason. It works normally on the realtek emulated nic on most OS's. I have only one instance where I needed to emulate two nics and disable the first one to get it to work. I think it was a timing issue.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

I think I must have not explained very well. My QEMU VM can access the internet just fine, but what it's not able to access is the private network within my office (which the machine the QEMU VM is running on is part of). In other words, my QEMU VM has an IP address of 10.0.2.16, my laptop (which QEMU is running on) has an IP address of 192.168.0.209, and the server in our office has an IP address of 192.168.0.210. I want to be able to reach the server from QEMU, but right now I can't because the 192.168.0.x subnet is non-routed.
