Creating a boot disk

March 10, 2009 at 11:05:57
Specs: Windows XP
I want to make an image of a machine by pulling it of with ghost srv 7.5 (symantic)and then ghost 40 other machines to the exact same spec. I need to create a boot floppy disk and need the nic drivers on it and then continue. On the boot disk there is a net folder with some files, I am looking for the dos drivers for the realtek network card but cannot find these drivers anywhere. Or how do I modify the net folder files I have. I obviously have no clue... please help?

That is all covered in the Ghost documentation. You can also go to to download bootable images that can make a boot diskette.

When I'm right, there is a program called Ghost Boot Wizard, that helps you to create bootdisks for that.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

The realtek site has the correct drivers. This assumes you have all realtek nic's. This assumes you wish to deploy over network.

Might consider dvd based if small enough or usb based images too.

You do have to follow the excellent documentation at the Symantec site. They have posted all sorts of tutorials and manuals.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
