I'm using Cox's High Speed Internet service(which was converted over from @Home) Does anyone know how often their DCHP should assign a new IP address? I've had this same IP address for several months now and according to COX it should be dynamic.

You can check the length of the lease by opening a command prompt window and typing the following command: ipconfig /all
What you should know is that DHCP will continue to assign the exact same IP address to the same client unless you change it so it will always send out new IP's to clients. It appears to me your cable company isn't worried about it and left it with the default. That's the way my cable service is as well...I've had the same IP address for over two years.
