I have a computer that I would like to use as a dedicated counter-strike server. It is connected to an intel hub, and I use MS ICS to share the connection with 3 other computers. But when I start up the server, it gives me the network ip [192.168.0.1] rather than the global ip [68.68.234.143]. Does anyone know what I can do to get this server up and running?

You could install a second ethernet card--I assume you have some sort of broadband internet access.

You'd directly connect to the internet with that card and would have IP 68.68.234.143. To the card connected to the hub, you would have the 192.168.0.1 IP which is required for MS ICS. This way, the one computer can have two addresses.

You could also purchase a hardware router (instead of using ICS software) which has the added benefit. However, the computers on your local network might have trouble joining games on your server because they would "share" one external IP address for all practical purposes.... And you'd probably need to specially configure the router to allow the proper ports to be open.

Since you have MS ICS sharing the internet connection to these 3 computers, you are going to have to map the port 27015 to the ip of the computer that is connected to the www unless you are running the CS server on the PC that is connected to the www, then try adding this in the beginning of the command line

e.t.c.
x:\sierra\half-life\hlds.exe -ip *.*.*.*
-port 27015 -game cstrike +maxplayers *
+map de_nuke

i assume that this server PC is the computer sharing the internet connection since it's ip is 192.168.0.1, and if there isn't any mapping 4 port 27015 to an another ip your server should be global, although it says 192.168.0.1, that is just because of the MS ICS, BUT if you have got MS firewall enabled, you are going to have to disable that..
