The command line 'convert c: /fs:ntfs' will convert your FAT partition without the loss of data. PartionMagic will also do this. Did you happen to mean NTFS to FAT? That's another story altogether.
Nope, NT Server, Workstation and Win2000 all convert with no problems. The only thing that might be a problem is that if you were dual-booting with Win95 or 98/ME those operating systems won't recognize (can't read) NTFS partitions locally. You can access NTFS partitions over a network with the correct permissions though.
