ContivityVPN client goes down often

Every 10-15 minutes, my Nortel Contivity VPN client (V04_60.51) [connecting me with my business location] goes down with a dialog box message that says: "The routing table cannot be altered after the Contivity VPN connection has been established...connection was closed" message. I, obviously, am not trying to alter a routing table. Anyone experience this problem? (I am using Sprint DSL, with their own 645 Series modem, with Earthlink.net as the ISP.). Thank you for any assistance, I appreciate it. Brian

From checking the microsoft technical page on VPNs (an example for Windows 2000) plus consulting further with my company's tech support, the answer is: PPTP.

No, I do not know any other details; what I'm going to try to do is use the RASPPPOE protocol to see if that may fix things. I'll let you know how things go; thanks for trying to help me so far. I appreciate it.

...problem still persisting...followup with a company rep revealed that IPsec is being used , it's just that the Windows 2000 Advanced TCP/IP Settings->IP Security setting needed to be set to "Do not use IPSEC". The latter info will probably send you down a different path of questions to me (sorry for the original mis-info).

Found the problem with the "router table cannot be altered" problem while running the Nortel VPN client. There are several other .exe's running, one of which was causing the problem. It could be realplay.exe, however, there are others .exe's that I ended. So, I now have an easier task of finding the exact .exe causing the conflict.
