Constant disconnecting

Specs: Windows Vista
I have on my netgear network, a desktop with XP, a laptop with vista and a netbook with windows 7 (starter). Not everything works, excellent signal and connection until we turn the desktop on. If we plug the desktoip in directly to the internet it's fine, but wirelessly... even if the other computers are off it still disconnects every 2 minutes. So it definitely seems to be the desktop.
Any ideas?

Any ideas?

Yep, one but I'll wager you won't care for it........

Plug the desktop in and leave it plugged in. Problem solved.

It's not like you carry it around the house so using wireless on it is kind of moot anyhow.

The desktop is plugged in, just not with the ethernet. And if we plug the ethernet into the desktop, there's no wireless for the other 2 computers.

What exactly are you plugging into the desktop? The cable from the modem? Does your netgear router have an inbuilt 4 port LAN switch? Are you connecting from one of those to the desktop?

Yeah, like Richard said, you need to explain/describe your setup a little more clearly. What you just said makes no sense.

Sorry, the PC is my mum's and she got confused. Right the PC is connected directly to Netgear not the modem. And the modem is obviously connected to the netgear so we can get wireless. It's just getting worse now. The only error I get on my laptop and netbook is IP address conflict...
