Comment:

I am interested in sharing files and printer (connected to comp2/Winme) from my Comp1/Win2k Pro..I am not able to see both the comps on the network neighbourhod folder.

I have comp2 user located on my comp1 user list & password...I have installed netBEIU (?) on my comp2(WinMe) and have bound it with Printer sharing and File sharing...They are on the same workgroup with different computer names...

1) DO I have multi users setup for comp2 as in add users to comp2 or just adding users to comp1 is required

2) My network does not have a domain only uses workgroup.

3) SHould I install netbeiu in both the computers?

4) I have wins diabled in both the computers.

5) I am using share leve access control on comp2 (WInMe)

If you need any more info on my settigns let me know...any help is greatly welcomed.

Thanks
Apoorva

Right now although I am connecting via linksys wirless network adaptor & router +access pont. And the network diag shows my comp2 is connected to the AP and the Internet. I can access the internett from comp2. but my comp1 does not show up on comp2 and vice versa.

I can however ping to comp1 and ping from comp1 to comp2.

Thanks

use ipconfig at the command line to ensure that the network cards are working (not a 169... address) then type in the ip of the computer u are trying to get to in an Internet explorer browser like this.
\\192.168.0.2 Where your computer to connect to's ip follows the slashes. U should be able to right click on the shared folders that come up and map the drives if you want to.
