Connection Resets/TimeOuts on fav. site

Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook

Specs: Windows 7, 4GB
I was using a site just fine earlier today then all of a sudden I got 'connection reset' error messages and I haven't be able to access it since. Several other sites are also affected.

I know the sites are still up and working because I've been chatting to other users online who also use them. They're not having any problems.

I've tried:

Using several different browsers - same problem occurs in all of them
Tried resetting my modem
Disabling my firewall
Uninstalling and reinstalling anti-virus, browsers etc.
I've cleared my browser cache and tried ipconfig /flushdns
I've tried pinging the website and the request times out.
I've tried to set up a static ip address...

Basically just tried every suggestion I could find online and nothing seems to be working.

Help please?

Okay! I restored my machine to an earlier date and the problem went away UNTIL Windows downloaded and installed it's latest updates and the problem returned.

Is there a quick and easy way of singling out which update could be causing the problem?
