When trying to browse the web, a message pops up and says we couldnt connect. So i checked our "network connections" and our connection is visible and even says "connected". It is a wired connection and comcast high speed. Its coming into a modem then is split to our computer. I am suspecting somethings wrong with the computer not the connection since all the colors are lit up on the modem and the pci card thing where the Ethernet port on the back is. Any suggestions or tips are appreciated
Thanks

The exact error messsage would help in diagnosing the issue.
Try a ping test. Open a command prompt window and type the following command:
ping 72.14.253.103
Do you get replies? If yes, you may be having troubles with DNS. In that case I recommend you call your ISP and talk to their support people.
If you don't get replies then the issue could very well be your NIC, your TCP/IP stack or the TCP/IP settings.
Do you have a SOHO router/firewall between you and the internet? If yes, is it configured for DHCP?
If no, are you getting your TCP/IP information from your ISP via DHCP or is it statically (manually) assigned? Are you running a software firewall on your PC, either Window's builtin firewall or a 3'd party program?

Well i haven't had a chance to run the ping test but both Windows firewall and a 3rd party firewall are installed and running. The connection in network connections says firewalled.
