Hi all, I have just set up a wireless network. 2 Computers are connecting fine and sharing files etc however one PC is failing to connect. I am using a Q-tec 774wp PCI card wih the latest drivers. Fron within the Network Connections Window, if I right click on the Wireless connection and click on "Enable" it says "Enabling" then "Connection Failed!". I have reseated the card, uninstalled the driver, reinstalled the driver and put the router right next to the computer but to no avail! Please help!

You often will get the "connection failed" message at first, give it a minute or two then see if you can ping another computer on the network. If you cant then make sure all your IP settings are correct, also make sure you have the encryption settings correct and that XP firewall is not enabled on that connection. If all this is ok and still no joy then try swapping that card with another PC and see if the fault remains with the PC or follows the card, this will atleast tell if it is a faulty card or not.
If the card is ok try uninstalling and then reinstalling TCP/IP, I've never heard of this needing to be done on XP but there is always a first time!

I had the same problem. Turned out the device was disabled in the device manager. (Must have been me ;-) Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, Network Adapters and check look for a red cross. If it is there, right click on your device and enable it. This solved it for me...
