Hello,
To put my problem simply: my internet connection (and the connection of the other 2 computers connected to the internet) drops every 20 minutes, then it picks right back up (due to auto. connect settings). This isn't a problem when I'm surfing the internet, but it becomes a problem when I'm playing online game. For example, when I'm playing World of Warcraft, every 20 minutes I'll get disconnected from my server. This, of course, is a problem when I'm in a battle, instance, or things of that nature.

Now for the details (as best as I can put them, if you want more, ask for them and I'll try to grab them). At my home I currently have 3 computers connected to the internet: a Dell XPS 400 (desktop), a Dell Inspirion 9100 (laptop), and a Dell Dimension XPS Gen. 3. All of these systems run Windows XP. The XPS 400 connects to a D-Link DI-624 router wirelessly using an external Dell TrueMobile 1300 USB WLAN card utility. Inspirion 9100 connects to the same router with a Dell Wireless WLAN 1350 Adapter. The Dimension XPS Gen. 3 plugs directly into the modem.

I've read posts on this site by those with similar problems, but the I've tried some of the solutions that people have posted and I still have had no luck.

A similar instance happened a few months ago, except the connection would drop every 5 minutes! The problem was "solved" after 4 hours with customer service with D-Link by just redoing the whole network, which I am NOT willing to do. I know that there has to be another solution that should be found.

Another weird fact about this is that the connection does not drop when only the Dimension XPS Gen. 3 is turned on. But once the XPS 400 or the Inspirion goes on, the 20 minute cycle resumes.

Any information helping me with this would be greatly appreciated. If you have a solution, you would be a god to me. Thank you for your time.

Yes, I already restarted my computer and it's still on fire.

See event logs on internet system.

Might want to reconfig the topology with a soho router to provide a bit more security. I would not put a system directly on the net.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

How would I do this? And would I have to buys this "soho" router?

Customer Service: "Have you tried restarting your computer, sir?"

Me: "Yes, I have already restarted my computer and it is still on fire."

Replace the router a suggested above. You have ports that are overheating.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness

Hmmm... I don't really want to spend the money on a new router. Can you think of any other solution?
