Connection ADSL Modem & Router?

I have a ADSL Modem for ISDN (Zyxel Prestige 642 ME-I) and want to connect 2 PC's to internet through the Router (CNet CNIG914). Which cables should I use between modem and router and from router to 2 PC's?
The internet works when I directly connect from ADSL Modem to any PC with crossover cable. When I asked, they said, I have to use for all 3, straight cables. I tried with straight cable, then the lights on Modem/Router wont turn on! For ex. the light doesnt turn on on ADSL (LAN) and on Router (WAN) when I connect a straight cable between them. But it turns on with a crossover.
And how to counfigure these with the web configuration using 192.168.1.1 IP address? Have 2 different configuration one for Modem and one for Router (with same above mentioned IP address).

Remember that modem and router - both are DCE equipments - it means that if you want to conennect them You must use crossover cables. Once you have communication between modem and router you must get any internet sharing program for your small network.
