Hi,

Please see pic for how my set up is: http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/...

Heres the problem: I connect the switch to the wireless bridge, then I connect the XBOX and it works ... then I shut it down and connect the XBOX360 and it doesn't work. So I reset the bridge and the switch and try again on the 360. Now it works with the 360... so I connect again the XBOX and doesnt' work..

If I turn off the adapter, the first console trying to connect works... the second one not!

Whats going on? Why isnt it allowing both to connect?

Ive tried manually putting in IP and DNS to no avail. DHCP is enabled on the router. Its always one or the other after a reboot of the bridge.

Perhaps I need to do something with MAC?

Appreciate any help its doing my head in!

Bill

In the above manual it states its a wireless range extender/access point. Belkin's docs are not very clear

Doc [page1]refers to "share a single printer" which I think is a clue.

It would appear to me what you wanted was a wireless bridge. What you may have is an external wireless adapter for a single device.

Nowhere in the doc did it mention multiple accesses
Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Damn. So Ive just wasted time and money on it. What's the point of it only allowing one device to connect to it?

The whole reason I got it was to avoid the extortionate costs of the wireless adapters the xboxs cost and was supposed to have the flexibility to plug anything else in at the same time. Belkin should have been clearer about its limitation.

One of the reasons, amoung many, I don't buy or suggest anyone buy Belkin.

You were on the right track. You wanted a wireless bridge.

Are you ready for where Microsoft wants you to go today?

Huzzah! I sorted it.

For all those interested. What I did was:

* Boot the gaming adapter and the 360. Do a network check to make sure it can connect to xbox live.
* Then boot xbox, the key is to set the alternate MAC address to the same as the 360!
* Connect to test and it should work!
* All of them are set to Automatically find IP and DNS.

I dont know if theres a disadvantage in using the same MAC address, hopefully someone can shed light on it.

But for now, I hope this helps somebody!! :)

Just a question...

If a modded xbox was detected on LIVE, as its using the same MAC address, would it ban the unmodded 360 as well?

Not that Im saying i have a modded xbox ;)

Cheers.

*update* It also works if you set the MAC address on both consoles to the gaming adapters MAC.
