connecting two comps using hub.

Dear all, I want to connect two comps using a 5 port hub, and ethernet cards.
What all do I need to do for the same?
Any help is appreciated.

You have everything you need. Just make sure you have the correct TCP/IP settings (ie. DNS, IP, Gateway etc.) from your ISP on each machine. Try using a DSL modem into your hub. It's pretty sweet.

Why do you need a hub anyway?
If it is only 2 computers, all you need is 2 ethernet cards and a network cable (specifically attached).

*AHEM* I read other posts about connecting two computers without the use of a hub and that requires a "crossover cable"!
