I am on a laptop and connect to the internet by connecting to an open/unsecure network. In other words, not my network. I am able to connect to this network but get disconnected every 15 minutes. Can someone tell me what's wrong? I don't plan to connect to this network forever. Only when I'm away from home.

What's wrong is you're using someone elses network connection. Chances are they're finding out and booting you. Be legit and pay for your own internet service when you're away from home!

This thread either obviates the need for satire, or fulfills it completely.

I doubt they found out and are booting me because they fail at securing their network. I'm not trying to hack their network or anything. I just need to borrow their internet connection. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
I have a network at home and tested it by turning it into an open network and was successfully connected to the internet for hours. I don't get why I can't with this one.
