Brownthis is the standard, but you may use the order you want if identical at each ends.

"Each wire inside a UTP cable must connect to the proper pins on the RJ_45 connector at each end of the cable. Each pair of wires has a solid colored wire and a striped wire: blue/blue-white, orange/orange-white, brown/brown-white, green/green-white. Because signals sent down pin 1 on oneend of a cable must be received on pin 1 on the other end, the same wire must connet to pin 1 on both ends."
Also:
"The EIA/TIA 568A standard is not the only game in town.... Theoretically, as long as each end of the cable uses the same color code, many color codes could be used within the same building and everything would still work. 10BaseT does not care what color the wires are --- they just need to have the pins on the RJ-45connector match up at each end. Despite the fact that multiple color codes can work, the wise technician wil use a single color code throughout an organizaton." Network+ book by Mike Meyers

search Google for "rj 45 connections and among your results will be diagrams OR when you buy the connector at Home Depot or Radio Shack there is a diagram on the back.
Now lets see you fix my network problem
